FAQ

Will the data be migrated from Vote 1 to Vote 2?

No, no data will be migrated to Vote 2. The reason for this is the completely new structure of Vote, which means that mapping can no longer be established.

How long can I still use Vote 1?

Vote 1 will remain accessible to everyone for the time being. As soon as all functions have been mapped in the new Vote and a certain level of maturity has been reached, Vote 1 will be restricted. This means that new votes can no longer be created, but existing votes can still be carried out. Six months after the restriction, Vote 1 will be switched off completely. It is not yet clear when exactly Vote 1 will be restricted.

Can I use the templates from Vote 1 in Vote 2?

Yes, with a few exceptions. When uploading a template from Vote 1, the user is informed that individual functions/question types could not be migrated and can continue to edit the vote with the functioning part.

Why are some functions currently only available for the API?

Unfortunately, the implementation of some functions takes significantly longer than the logic in the background (accessibility, user experience, etc.). Therefore, the backend of Vote is already much more advanced and offers many more functions and setting options than the web interface. It is important to note that votes created via the API lead to errors in the web interface and should only be used in your own scripts/applications.

Status of the integrations of Vote in Slack/Teams/Webex

The integrations are currently working with Vote 1 in the background. This will remain the case for the time being until Vote 2 has reached the necessary maturity and Vote 1 can be restricted. As soon as the integrations are switched over, users will be informed via the usual channels (WebEx Community, Workplace Experience Newsletter).

Can external users use Vote?

Yes and no. External users can participate in or administer votes. However, external users cannot create votes, as this is reserved for internal users only. However, Telekom employees can gain full access to Vote from outside the intranet via the API key (can be requested via the dashboard).

Is it possible to conduct non-anonymous votes?

Yes and no. Complete anonymity is mandatory for the Survey module. In the Interactive Tools module, the user can be given the option of revealing their identity via the alias setting; this may be required for a Q&A, for example, in order to be able to ask questions.

Are there any ideas to design Vote 2 as a T-internal OpenSource project?

Not at the moment. However, as soon as we have reached the necessary maturity, this would be a valid option.

Multilingualism for answers - Can I also have answers translated from another language?

Unfortunately not yet. However, the function is in our backlog.

Which browsers can be used?

Currently, all current browsers/with the latest update should be able to use Vote. (Except Internet Explorer)

Will there also be appointment voting similar to Doodle?

Yes, it will come. However, this function is not at the top of the backlog, so it may take a while.

Is it possible to delete replies from users as administrator?

Not yet and not planned.

When will MS Teams be available as a communication medium?

We are working on it. Due to the significantly higher rights we would need, the release will unfortunately take longer than expected.

Do I also have to enter the information in Vote 2 that more than 300 participants are planned?

No, this information is no longer necessary.

Will it be possible to change the vote without resetting it and deleting all previous answers?

Yes, there will be in the future. This setting (eager vote) only needs to be trailed in the web interface.

Is it possible to create an FMB as the creator of the VOTE?

Yes, would be possible without any problems

Can external people also create votes?

Not at the moment.
